After Internships, it was time to get a real job, and I found one in McDonald’s. This job brought many things, and I’ve loved working there. But my time was short there and many things happened. So, I will tell you what I’ve found to be a second family.
In this job, I’m not going to list all the people who made my time there a “golden time”, but below this paragraph you’ll find a photo that’s part of the family on McDonald’s.
So let’s start the story.
With Martinho Nascimento, the manager when I started working there, and the team I learned many things. How to prepare the food, clean the kitchen, clean the salon, outside, and the bathrooms. Here, at McDonald’s, everything is fast and everything needs to be done right.
I cannot praise enough the people with the task of cleaning, even if many times it appears is not properly clean, but believe me, cleaning fast and right is a job into itself and in the fast food industry, there are many times that food goes to the floor and the person responsible for cleaning, it’s cleaning the bathrooms for example. So, yeah, it’s a bit arduous to clean a fast-food place.
Preparing the food, it’s another sub-job, everything is always to be kept clean, and delivering the burger or salad, to the preparation team it’s hard.
Have I told you already about the hygiene?
If any one of the workers touches something it’s not supposed to touch, clean and disinfecting is another thing to do. I cannot count the times I’ve had to clean my hands because I touched something I wasn’t supposed to, and that chore, only hygiene, it’s taken very seriously. You can get fired over that. To finish this paragraph, hygiene is not a thing to mess around in McDonald’s.
I know, all of this seems to be hard to anyone, but trust me, the best part is yet to come, the part when you are integrated as a family and everything sounds like more fun than work. And to that, I have to thank at least two people in the management, Again Martinho and Gina.
My goodbye to this family was fun to say, at least, I’ve respected the guidelines and I’ve had fun with the managers, sub-managers, and the whole team that was working there. If I someday, find myself in there again, it’s going to be another level of fun, but always following the health and hygiene guidelines.
To the team that was there, I thank you all for teaching me all the wonders of working in the fast-food industry.
