From the program “Estagiar-T” (Internship) I had the pleasure to work within AcoresPRO as a Web Developer. There I had several experiences, also with PCBEM, which I think are valuable to say, in this case, write, but I can’t thank all the people that, in the time worked there, I had the pleasure to meet.

Here are some people worth mentioning from the internship:

  • Filipe Raposo (CEO)
  • Marco Ferreira (Co-CEO – PCBEM)
  • Paulo Simas (Co-CEO – PCBEM, but on 2015 he was on PC Clinic)
  • André Sousa (Designer, Co-Worker)
  • Carolina Silva (Accountant, Co-Worker)
  • João Brandão (Designer, Video Creator and editor, Co-Worker)
  • Manuel Mendonça (Programmer, Project Manager, Co-Worker)
  • Nuno Pimentel (Graphic Designer, Project Manager, Co-Worker)
  • José Viegas (Programmer, Co-Worker)
  • Ricardo Tavares (Graphic Designer, Co-Worker)
  • João Bilhete (PCBEM)
  • Ricardo Bulhões (PCBEM)

While I was there, I learned a lot, from the people and from the companies I referred to above. I learned, how to teach, put my little knowledge of WordPress into practice, and develop it more, continue to develop my knowledge in CodeIgniter.

Let’s break down things a bit.

First and foremost, While I was there it was as if I had a new family, although I had many defects in my personality, that I was able to remove some. And for that, a special thanks to Filipe Raposo is due. Thanks “old” boss.

Special Thanks

Filipe Raposo was always there to help and to put up with my quirks, and I was the same with him, in the Internship. I, kind of, have to say a bit more. He was an excellent boss, but as we always have, he has his quirks, and he’s a reasonable person to talk to.

Marco Ferreira, and Paulo Simas, as bosses, were excellent, he, Marco, knew “when and where” to talk about things and gave pieces of advice that helped me. To this day, I can say that, if you have them as bosses, you might have all. They are genuine people that care, deeply, about the company and its employees. And if you are one of them, take care of them, do your job and help with company issues if you are able.

To Manuel Mendonça, as he was at least at the beginning, a Co-worker that I had the utmost respect, and till this day, at least from my side, he’s still a friend to talk to.

To André Sousa. You, André, made me laugh in a way that made some hardships lighter to support. Also, the jokes that you made, were on top. I hope, if you are in the company today, that you have the same spirit that you had when we met, and that you, still, make the jokes, that made us all, in the company, laugh and as a consequence made the people more at ease.

To José Viegas. Thanks for helping me understand what is to teach someone and helping to keep me humble. You, my dear friend, were one of the people that I had most to learn, when the teaching on programming was me that made it, you were the one teaching me how to teach.

To the remaining people, mentioned or not, thanks for being part of my experience with AcoresPRO — all the people, were great fellows and sometimes a big company (company on companionship).

There were at least two persons I taught what I learned, and that I helped, and to this day, only José Viegas was humble enough to face me when I wasn’t in the company.

To the person, Miguel Silva, when I was in McDonald’s, there was no excuse for what you did.

With all the learning and the jobs to put into my portfolio, I cannot thank enough all the people who helped, were supportive, were true friends, and many more things.

As a Final Thanks, not that I’m going to die or something like that, I would like to thank AcoresPRO for receiving me and for helping me to grow as an individual. The internship had its lows and highs as with everything in life and I can only thank the people and the company.
