What personal data do I collect and why do I collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

In some parts of the website, you’ll find a contact form, to email me to contact you as soon as possible. Your email, name, and phone number might be requested, and that data will always be safe in here.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

I might use Google Analytics to see how the website is performing for the end user (you) and to correct and make the website even faster.

I don’t share your data with anyone, and if i need to share it, i will request your permission for that first.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so i can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where do I send your data?

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Like akismet. See the Akismet Privacy section about your data.

Your contact information

Your contact information is safe when you share it with me. as you’ve read, you can request to delete it. The only time i cannot do that is when I’m obliged by law to withdraw your consent for data deletion.

How I protect your data

All your generated data is safe within this website and the affiliated websites. I will always update and check if anything is wrong, and if that happens, I’ll inform you, the end user, that something has happened.

What data breach procedures do I have in place

When it comes to knowledge of that, only when I’m informed of it, and if that ever happens, I will reach out to you to inform you about that.

What third parties do I receive data from

I only receive data from Google Analytics and Google ReCAPTCHA in the form of a graph, and I am not able to see who requested anything with that data.

What automated decision-making and/or profiling do I do with user data

None.
